I tag it “likely” because God’s way is different from ours, and no one can boldly say he knows what is in God’s heart no matter how close you are to Him. God only discloses whatever He wants you to know to your or His prophets. Therefore, no one can boldly say he knows the reasons why your prayers are not answered. However, as Christians, we have the Bible and the Holy Spirit to guide us. So, all the points we’ll outline here are biblically and scripturally backed.
Firstly, prayer is the act of communicating with God. It is like a child talking to his father. I understand how you feel when you live a righteous life, obeying God’s instruction, and you didn’t get results when you pray. Truly, Jesus said whatever we ask in His name He will do so that His Father will be glorified John 14:13. He also said we should ask and we shall be given Matt 7:7.
Sincerely, God is a man of His words, whatever He says is what He will do, He is not a man that will lie. When He says He will bless you, trust Him completely, He will surely bless you.
You want God to do things in your ways and not His way, forgetting that He owns heaven and earth. No, it is impossible. No doubt, He gave you the privilege to ask whatever you want but he did not promise you “when” He will do it. It might be now, sooner or later. The challenge is impatience, we want everything done fast.

Reasons Why Your Prayers Are Not Answered
Faith
Biblically, faith means trust and confidence. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen Heb 11:1. This means even though you are yet to get an answer to your prayer, you believe that it is done. Believe in God and have confidence in him, He will do whatever you ask in Christ’s name. There are instances in the Bible where Jesus heals people by their faith. Luke 18:42 – Receive your sight your faith healed you, Luke 7:50 – Jesus said to the woman, your faith has saved you, go in peace.
Sinning
Sin is one of the major reasons why prayers are not answered. Sinning is when you continue to sin without remorse and repentance. God does not want sinners to perish, 2 Peter 3:9 but when you continue in sin and disobey His commandments, He says your prayers are detestable Proverbs 28:9.
God only listens to His people who obey His instruction, He does not listen to sinners John 9:31 Disobeying God and going against His will can hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 3:12 says the Lord’s eyes are upon those who are righteous and He listens to their prayers, but he turns His face against those that do evil.
God’s Will
God’s ways are different from ours. He is omniscient and omnipresent, He is the Alpha and Omega, He knows everything, including the ones you don’t know. At times He refused to answer your prayer to keep you away from danger. Whenever you pray, the kingdom of darkness is aware and they are ready to do anything to trash the blessings. If they cannot stop you from receiving your blessing, they usually find a way to endanger you because of the blessing.
Now, God will never share His glory with anyone, instead of releasing the blessing, at that time, He will postpone it till when He knows that the enemies cannot harm you. I have seen different instances where people die or something bad happens to them after a breakthrough.
I pray that will not be your portion in Jesus’s name. The Lord will give you the power to overcome the evil one. Don’t give up, the Lord will open the door you have been knocking for long in Jesus’s name. He will answer you, He is only protecting you and your blessing from the wicked eyes.
Covenant
Another reason why your prayers are not answered is a covenant. You might be wondering why can covenant hinder your prayer? Covenant is an agreement between two or more people making promises, stipulations, or responsibilities. Covenant is so powerful that God believes in a covenant. In Gen 12:1-3, God made a covenant with Abraham, we were under the old covenant (Testament) before the death of Jesus Christ. It was the death of Jesus Christ that brought us into the new covenant.
This is it, God will not answer your prayer if you are in a covenant with the devil. He detests idolatry. Jonah 2:8 says Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. There are many people that are in satanic bondage due to the covenant they made.
Brethren, until you break that covenant and turn back to God, your prayer might not get answers to your prayer. The only way to break such an evil covenant is by the Blood of Jesus Christ, and entering into a higher covenant with God, then He will hear your prayers.
Principalities And Powers
Who are principalities and powers? They are the hindering spirits, authorities, and rulers in high places that contend with the Children of God. They are against God and His people. When you pray and God answers your prayer, he will release the blessing from above. Before it gets to you, these malicious spirits are so powerful that they can hinder the blessing from reaching you.
That’s why Ephesians 6:12 says For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The only way to conquer them is by praying consistently and remaining in the Lord.
Praying Amiss
Another likely reason why your prayers are not answered is when you pray amiss. Praying amiss is when you are asking God to do what he does not have in plan for you. He will not answer until you do His will. Have you ever taken the time to know God’s purpose for you?
It is a common mistake we all make, I once made it, but thank God, He put me on the right track. Sincerely, if you are walking in accordance with God’s plan, things will be smooth for you. He will open even before you knock and things will fall in pleasant places for you.
If you are walking in God’s direction for you, you will not pray amiss because you are on the right path and your prayer request will glorify Him. Understand God’s purpose for your life today and have peace of mind.
