How To Forgive Others
There are basically two steps to forgiving people. Although it is not easy, it is mandatory to forgive those that hurt us because God showed us mercy and he expects us to be merciful unto others. He says blessed are those that are merciful for their reward is a blessing. Now how do you forgive others?
1. Forgiving Yourself
Now, it is necessary that you forgive yourself. Just you live with pain others have caused you, you can also live with pains you might have caused yourself. Some of us have done terrible things in the past and the memory still haunts us today.
I know someone that was an alcoholic before he gave his life to Christ, the alcohol almost damaged his liver. When he became born again, he had to be spending on medications for liver treatment. His lifestyle and diet changed and each time he remember the pain he caused himself, he feels guilty.
You too might be crying within you for the pains you have caused someone or yourself in the past, and you find it difficult to forgive due to the agony. Start by forgiving yourself and letting the past go. Remember, old things have passed away since you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior.
2. Let Go
Truly, it is hard to let go in some situations. But when you let go and let God handle it, the reward is always greater than when you do it your way. God never sleeps, He rewards everyone according to their work. The best option is to let God have His way in every situation, trust me you will never regret it.
Pray to forgive yourself and others. how God to fit it and move on.
