Growth and promotion are signs of progress. But sometimes they don’t work as planned, and you keep wondering if you are on the right path or if something is wrong with you. Well, nothing is wrong. The only problem is not knowing how God prepares men for the task ahead. Today, we’ll explore the major reasons why things are not working according to your plan
The truth is that God wants us to succeed, and he has a greater plan for us. Jer 29:11—For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
This is so true; however, we don’t work according to God’s plan most of the time and always want to work according to our plan, forgetting that we are all created by the master planner who owns the key to our lives.
Jer 1: 5 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
This shows that even before we were born, he had a plan for us. There are paths he wants us to take, there is an assignment for everyone, are you fulfilling God’s purpose?
When you understand God’s plan and timing, you’ll know the signs of each season. There is a planting time, weeding time, waiting time and finally the harvest time. You don’t expect the crop you plant today to germinate and be ready for harvest the same day, never.
Between the planting and the harvesting time, many things happen: challenges will come, the wind will blow, parasites might even infest your crops, and erosion can swipe your plants away. It will take courage, hard work prayer, faith and steadfastness to over the challenges before a bountiful harvest.
If you are a game player, you will know that for every new level you attain in any game, it becomes more difficult and the rules are stricter. The same applies to academics; as you go higher, the exams and level to attain become difficult and our life is not different.
Even though God wants everyone to succeed, He will never entrust some things in your hands until you are capable.
Matthew 25: 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and another one, to each according to his ability; and immediately he went on a journey.”
God does not like waste; He knows your capability, and he will never assign anything beyond your understanding to you. Instead, he will prepare you mentally and spiritually and allow you to undergo some physical training, which might come in the form of challenges.
There was a faster way that could lead the Israelites to Cannan, but God did not allow them to follow that part because He knew the Israelites were liberated slaves; they knew nothing about war, government, themselves, or even God.
If they had gone through the short route to Canaan and had met the Philistines in their walled cities who were trained and prepared to fight, they would have become discouraged and returned to Egypt. God made them go through the long path to be trained from unskilled shepherd to a nation.

Joseph journeyed to become a prime minister because his brother sold him into slavery. His brother’s intention for him was bad but God allowed it to happen, which later led Joseph to become a prime minister.
Your present situation does not define your tomorrow; it is just a matter of time, and you shall overcome it. At times we find ourselves in an unpleasant situation or working environment; brethren, God kept you there for a purpose.
Do whatever your hands find doing at present with all your heart, it might be what will propagate you to the next level, you never know. Joseph never allowed his predicament to override his talent; he still uses his inner ability even in a confined environment.
Keep striving, get new training, and keep your inner abilities alive regardless of the environment or situation you find yourself in; you are just at the edge of a breakthrough.
Preservation of Life
For every step of progress you make, the more you become vulnerable to evil attacks. You might be wondering why and how. Yes, it is true. Nobody goes after unripe fruit, but everyone wants to have a ripe fruit.
Success is a natural announcer of destiny; it attracts both the good and bad, which you don’t have control over. The only thing you safeguard is yourself. Equipping yourself with the power of God and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
God, at times, will not allow you to attain some heights because you are not spiritually powered for the position. He knows the enemies can come like a thief at night and take you away; hence, hence will not give you that blessing because he loves you until you are spiritually fit to overcome any challenge that might arise.
Don’t rush to have money. Instead, equip yourself spiritually and mentally, and then when the money comes, you will be able to spend it in good health.

Fulfilling God’s Purpose
The third reason why things are not working according to your plan is not fulfilling God’s purpose. We are God’s plan, and we have to work according to His purpose for us. God will never allow man’s plan to override His plan. That business or career is not working because it is your plan and not God’s desire for you. Have you ever taken time to find your purpose on earth and know what you are destined for?
Having all the wealth on earth might not be as satisfying as living a purposeful life. You can never dictate to your maker; he is the potter, and we are the clay (Isaiah 45:9). The potter decides what to do with the clay. It is better to realise on time that your purpose must align with God’s plan to live a successful and fulfilling destiny.
