Is Heaven real? This is the question wagging in the tongue of many. It is not peculiar to religious groups or beliefs, but to the world at large. We provide answers to this question using the scripture as our reference. At the end of reading this article, you should be able to clarify your doubt

The Concept of Heaven

The word ‘heaven’ is reportedly used more than 40,000 times in songs written in the English language, and it appeared more than 500 times in the Bible.

According to English scholars, Heaven is believed to be a place of maximum enjoyment, a place above the earth, prepared by a divine being (God) for those who keep his commandment.

It is a place kept for the reward of men, to reward them for the good things they have done. Heaven is theologically believed to exist above the earth’s surface, arguably in the sky. It is a place kept for the reward of the righteous men, men who have been able to keep the commandment of God through Jesus Christ.

Many have been said about this place and we will make sure we bring light to it.

The concept of the reality of heaven has been a major to inhabitants of the universe, it generates questions like, “where am I going to when I die, is there hell to which enemies of God will be taken to? is the concept of heaven just a figurative language used to instil fear in the life of people on earth?” This and other questions about heaven will be looked into thoroughly.

Whenever I see architectural designs made by men on earth, it makes me try to reflect on how beautiful heaven will be. If men could develop houses and cities as beautiful as they are, what do you think heaven will look like? It will be so wonderful.

What the Bible says about heaven

The Bible is the word of God made for redemption and salvation, and we are comforted by this word. Different things have been written about heaven in the word of God, and it should never be taken for granted.

Going through the bible, it has been known and affirmed that a lot has been said about the existence of heaven and hell. Heaven is a place set aside by God for the reward of the saint, while hell is a place set aside by God for the condemnation of men who have failed to live a life that pleases God.

There are a lot of Scriptural references to back up the claim that heaven and hell are real, these scriptures are what will be considered in this section of the article. These scriptures will also answer the question, “is heaven real?”.

Matthew 25:46, According to this book, “the cursed and condemned ones will be sent into everlasting punishment, while the righteous ones will go into everlasting life”.

Where do you think this eternal punishment will occur, it is not in a good place, this is the Bible’s description of what hell will look like, and also makes us know that heaven is a place of eternal life.

1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 “The Lord will come down from heaven with the voice of the archangel and with the sound of a trumpet call of the father, those who died in Christ will be resurrected and those who are still alive will rise and catch up with him in the cloud, they will meet him in the air to be with him forever”.

Seen how precise this Bible verse has been? It has been able to give us a wonderful picture of what rapture and going to meet God in heaven looks like. Let no man deceive you, heaven is real, and hell is also real.

John 14:2 – “In my father’s house, there are so many mansions, if it were not true, I would have told you. I am going to make a place for you, after preparing that wonderful place for you, I will come back and take you there. So that where I am, you will be also”.

This is a wonderful promise by Jesus Christ to those who walk according to his plans for man.

Philippians 3:20 – “For we are citizens of Heaven, this is where we will wait for the Lord Jesus Christ”.

Jeremiah 32:17“ -The Lord has made the heaven and the earth with his powers and his outstretched arms. Nothing is impossible for him (God) to do”.

This scripture is so wonderful, making us know that God made heaven and the earth and that nothing is impossible for him. If you are found doing a bad thing, you are going to perish in hell. So the Bible says.

These Scriptures outlined here have been able to make to know that heaven exists, and at the same time, hell is real. We must be constantly eager to do things that will eventually take us to heaven.

According to John 3:16, “God sent his only son (Jesus Christ) out of love, to come to the world and die so that we will not be sent to hell if we believe in him, and that we will have life eternally (in heaven)”.

What to do to make heaven?

Surrender your life in totality to Christ.

You can not think of making it to heaven if you do not give your life to Christ. This is the first step in making things right with the father, the life we live is not ours, Christ bought it with his expensive blood on the cross of Calvary. Surrender to him in totality and see your life change

Confess your sins to him and seek mercy

According to Romans 3:23, we have all sinned and we have come short of the glory of God. For you to be a candidate for heaven, confess your sins to him, irrespective of how bad it is, and he will forgive you. You will not live a fulfilled life outside of Christ.

Believe that Christ died for your sin

According to John 3:16, God loves the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not die, but shall have life eternal. This life eternal is a life devoid of pain, lack and want. It is the life we will live when we get to heaven. According to 1 John 5:13, believe in the name of Jesus Christ and have eternal life.

Invite Jesus Christ into your life through prayer

Now that you have given your life to Christ, you need to pray a prayer of salvation and commitment, a prayer that will invite Christ into your life, and pray for the forgiveness of your sins.

Repeat this prayer with me

Father Lord, thank you for bringing me to the realization of your grace, thank you for making me know you, thank you for revealing yourself to me, I thank you for the salvation of my soul, let your name be exalted.

I believe that you came down to die for my sins so that I will not be condemned through the blood you shredded on the cross of Calvary. I believe that that I am from Satanic bondage, I am no more a candidate of hell, I shall live long on earth to possess my possessions in the name of Jesus Christ.

My name has been cancelled from the book of hell, it is now written in the book of life in the name of Jesus Christ.

Now that you have confessed Christ, you are a new creature. Old things have passed away, our God forgives, it does not matter the kind of sin you committed in the past, you are now a candidate of Heaven. I am sure you now have an answer to the question of “is heaven real?”.
